WELCOME Welcome to Maddison Deadman a New Entrant student in Room 7 to the school.
ART ATTACK! On Friday 18th November at 1.15pm, we will be having a special assembly to celebrate our Arts learning this year. Each class will present an item which showcases some of the learning they have done in the Arts this year. You are invited to attend and enjoy our performances. From Monday 14th November, there will be an exhibition of visual arts in the hall. This will be a selection of some of the art done by our students. You are welcome to drop by between the hours of 8am and 4pm to look at some of the wonderful art our children have produced.
SENIOR SYNDICATE ATHLETICS Our annual Senior Syndicate athletics will be held on 11th November (Friday). Teachers organising events will need Adult Helpers to assist with marking distances, timing races, tallying results etc. If you are able to help on the day please complete the following form and return to Miss Abraham in Room 4. All help is greatly appreciated!

Child's name: _____________________________ Room: ______ KIDS FOR KIDS - A Christmas Show The choir will be participating in the Kids For Kids- A Christmas Show with Suzanne Prentice O.B.E on Thursday 10th of November at 7.30pm at the Telstra Clear Pacific, Genesis Energy Centre in Manukau. Tickets go on sale, 6 weeks before the event and can be bought from the website www.worldvision.org.nz/kids4kids. They tend to sell quickly so book as soon as possible so you don't miss out.
HATS In line with the school's policy on sun safety, all children are to wear a school uniform hat when they are outside. If they do not have a hat on during morning tea or lunchtime, they will have to play in the shade. Hats are available from the school office at a cost of $15.
PHOTOLIFE We are expecting the Photolife photos to arrive within the next two weeks and they will be distributed as soon as they arrive. There have been delays due to catch-up photos being taken and the holidays. Unfortunately this is out of our control.
CALENDARS Your child will have brought home an order form today for calendars, cards and diaries displaying your children's wonderful artwork. These will make great Christmas pressies.
A huge thanks to all the teachers for inspiring our children to produce some wonderful work and for providing the time and effort in your busy teaching schedule to incorporate this activity.
CHRISTMAS IN KARAKA Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered – we have had a huge response. We are currently allocating all volunteers to homes and once this completed we will be in contact to confirm which home you will be at on the day. We will also be sending out a “Volunteers Summary” which will provide all details you will need to know before the event.
For those of you who have not yet sent in your volunteer form please do so ASAP
Many people have been asking if they can buy tickets for the wonderful raffles that have been donated. We are planning on having the tickets available for sale from Monday 7 November to Friday 18 November. We hope to have most of the raffles at the school for viewing or a photo of the product and tickets will be available from the office - $2 per ticket or 3 for $5. The raffles will be drawn on 18 November.

SCHOOL POOL The school pool will be opening on Monday 31 October. The fee for out of school hours swimming pool use by Te Hihi School families is set at $150 for the season which runs through to the end of March 2012. The swimming pool season may be extended subject to weather which will be confirmed by the Board next year. There is no variation on this set fee.
Access to the pool facilities is by way of a key. There is a bond of $20 for this key (There will be a $20 refund for the return of the key at the end of the season or you can retain key into next season).
All access keys will be de-activated at the end of the season. Parent donations must be paid in full before a access key can be issued. If you would like to purchase a pool key please complete the form keep at the school office, the form must be completed by an adult and the key will only be given to an adult they will not be sent home with students.
ORIENTATION FOR YEAR 8 ENROLLED AT ROSEHILL COLLEGE 2012 All Year 8 children who have enrolled at Rosehill College are invited to visit the school on Monday 5 December at 11:30 a.m. for their orientation. The orientation will take about 1½ hours. Please note that parents/caregivers will need to organise transport for this and that the orientation is for the children, not parents.
Maori and Pasifika students are cordially invited to a welcoming Hui onDecember 6th at 6pm. The Hui will be held in at the Rosehill College wanaga, Moemoe.
