SCHOOL NEWS
The Upcoming Events section has all the events and dates and we will be outlining them in the newsletter or by direct letter home.
Shop Day
Shop Day will be held on Wednesday 9 December. For those who are new to the school, this is a day organised by our older students for all children in the school. These are fun activities which the Year 7&8 children organise as well as a sweet stall and jumble sale. The jumble sale is a  good opportunity for children and parents to sort through and donate toys, books, etc that are still in reasonable condition but which children have grown out of. Items for the jumble sale can be brought to school from tomorrow onwards.

Triathlon
Get the bike out and dust off the running shoes.  The school triathlon will be held on December 10 from 12.30.

Helpers Morning Tea
The staff will be hosting a morning tea this Friday 11th December at 10.45 to thank all the wonderful people who have kindly offered their time to the school over the year.  We look forward to catching up with you all on Friday.

Assembly
We will be having our final assembly for the year on Friday 11th December at 9 am.

Prizegiving
The school will be holding our annual prizegiving on Monday 14 December in the Hall starting at 7:00 p.m.  We hope to see you there.

Year 8 Dinner
The Year 8 dinner is being held on the 15th of December, 6.30pm in the School Hall. Tickets are now available from the school office for $20 each. Limited to 2 adults per student.

Home Numeracy Packs
Could we please have any Home Knowledge Maths Packs back to school. I hope you have found them helpful when working with your child. I would also appreciate any feedback about their use, so improvements can be made for next year. Thank you to those who have already returned them.

Te Hihi School Book Fair
Thank you to all of our families who supported our book fair last week. It was wonderful to see the high level of interest and enthusiasm for reading new books. The book fair made approximately $3000, raising $536 for the school. Thank you also to all of those families who generously donated books to our school library: James Van Dorp, Kaitlyn Monti-Ellery, the Kim family, the Kidd family, the Kennerley family. We have placed a donation slip with your name in these new books to acknowledge your kind donations.
A big thanks also to those parents who supported our book fair by volunteering their time at the desk: Angela Hill-Rennie and Maria Skudder. A very special thank you to Lisa Boyce-Bacon who was there every day! We couldn’t have done it without you Lisa!
