Welcome to Te Hihi. We look forward to developing an on-going educational relationship with your agency to promote Te Hihi as a schooling choice. Parents of students who study at Te Hihi speak highly of the education and care their child receives.
Our school is working towards becoming authorized as an International Baccalaureate school. All children learn through inquiry and develop into confident, creative and innovative students. They are prepared to become global citizens ready to face change and make a difference for themselves and others.
The school’s curriculum promotes and supports student learning through a broad range of learning opportunities.
Code of Practice
Te Hihi School has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students published by the Minister of Education. Copies of the code are available from this institution or from the NZ Ministry of Education website at http://www.minedu.govt.nz
Health and Travel Insurance
Students are not entitled to publicly funded health services while in New Zealand unless they are:
A resident or citizen of Australia; or
A national of the United Kingdom in NZ; or
The holder of a temporary permit that is valid for 2 years or more.
If you don’t belong to one of these special categories and you received medical treatment during your visit, you will be liable for the full costs of that treatment. You are required to have insurance that will cover the cost of medical treatment in New Zealand for the duration of your stay in New Zealand. We strongly recommend that you obtain insurance to cover your travel to and from New Zealand.
“Full details of visa and permit requirements, advice on rights to employment in New Zealand while studying and reporting requirements are available through the New Zealand Immigration Service, and can be viewed on their website at http://www.immigration.govt.nz“
You can download a printable version of the Application for Enrolment Form by clicking here. Please note there are further documents which will need to be completed as shown at the bottom of this page.
The International Student’s parents complete the Application for Enrolment form.
Once the application has been approved, a Letter of Acceptance of Application, (Offer of Place) will be sent out.
An Agreement to provide tuition is signed between the School and the Student’s parents and payment of the fee is made. The amount of the fee is determined by the term of tuition.
Once payment of the International Fee has been made, a receipt is issued.
The Student can now apply to the Immigration Office for a Student Visa, showing the receipt and Enrolment Agreement to support their application. The visa or permit must be endorsed with the name of the school at which the student is seeking to enrol.
Once the appropriate Visa is obtained, the Student is in a position to commence studies at Te Hihi School on the date agreed to in the Enrolment Agreement.
