A sad farewell

Today we had to farewell two of our favourite climbing trees. Unfortunately they were dying and whilst the stduents loved climbing them, they had to go. In their place is a Puriri which we look forward to beinga  favourite climbing tree for the next generation.

Taylor and Coding

Our new inquiry has seen us delve into learning about coding.

We have learnt that coding is when you give a clear instruction to someone or something. If the instruction is not clear it can end very badly.

We had to work collaboratively in groups and peers to come up with some instructions to get from one place in the school to another.

We had to use our directional knowledge about North, East, South and West as well as right, left, up and down. We also used significant landmarks, steps or measured in metres how far to walk.

SUPPORT GROUP FOR PARENTS & CAREGIVERS

The Mind Health Project (MHP) is hosting a support group for the parents or caregivers who are struggling to support their teens or family members suffering from mind health issues ...particularly ANXIETY & DEPRESSION.
We will meet monthly on every 3rd Monday of the month at 6.30pm at the mind health project HQ on Seddon Street, Pukekohe.

The next meeting is Monday 17 August at 6.30pm

We can only take 10 people for this group, please email your interest to: info.mhpfranklin@gmail.com.  If you need support please come along on Monday 17th August. This is for parents not the teens (please come without your child) as this is your time to get support from a small confidentially sensitive group of people offering support and encouragement to you.
