Matariki Festival 14 June
14 Jun 2019
To celebrate Matariki, the school is hosting a cultural festival day on Friday 14 June for kapa haka from local schools. The day will start with a powhiri for our visiting nga kapa haka at 9:30 on our top court.
Parents are welcome to join us for the powhiri.
Afterwards, we will be breaking the tapu of the powhiri with kai as is traditional. The kapa haka students will receive a small kite of kai. If parents would like to join us during this breaking of the tapu, parents are invited to bring along their own kai.
Kapa Haka Performances
The kapa haka performances will take place in the Hall soon afterwards. As we are limited to the number of people we can host in the hall due to health and safety, and fire regulations, there will be limited space in the hall reserved only for those parents associated with our visiting kapa haka.
Please note there will be no assembly on Friday.
