Parent Information
Absences
Parents are reminded that under the Education and Training Act 2020, any child enrolled in school must attend school whenever the school is open for instruction. Parents are obliged under the Act to inform the school whenever their child is away. Only absences due to illness, medical or dental appointments and funeral|tangi of a close family member are regarded as justifiable absences.
To notify the school of a short-term illness, please email the school office or use the absence button on the Hero app.
To request leave from the principal for holidays during term time, please email the principal using this form.
Buses
This page outlines the procedures which we have in place at school to assist in ensuring the safety of all children who travel on the bus to and from school. Please discuss these points with your child as we need to ensure that at all times the safety of the children is paramount. Your help is appreciated.
If your child is not travelling home by bus on a specific day the classroom teacher needs this communicated to the office
If your child is late to school, he/she must report to the office with you for a Late Pass prior to going to class. At this point Mrs Dell will check the bus arrangements for that day.
If you decide to pick up your child at the end of the school day, please notify the office by 2:00 p.m. to inform the office of the arrangements for that day. This assists us in ensuring that your child is accounted for.
To ensure the safety of all students on the bus, they must remain seated while the bus is in motion and their behaviour an example of our school motto which then allows the driver to concentrate on the task of driving the students to and from school safely.
No student is allowed to change the stop they get on or off the bus without you and the school being informed.
Due to the large numbers travelling by bus we are unable to allow groups of other children to go home on the bus for birthdays or to play at friends’ houses.
